President Alar Karis Visited the Tori Horse Breeding Farm

On June 22, the Tori Horse Breeding Farm had the honor of hosting the President of the Republic of Estonia, Mr. Alar Karis, along with his entourage.

From the Tori Church, the President was brought to the farm's new indoor riding arena in a horse-drawn carriage, accompanied by students from the riding school. Chairman of the Estonian Rural Life Museums Council Tõnis Tänav, board member Kadri Valner, agricultural and administrative manager Taivo Esula, and equine management director of the Tori Horse Breeding Farm Agris Juhkov introduced the President to the daily life of the farm, sharing both its joys and challenges. It was a thoroughly pleasant and engaging conversation.

Next to the arena, the President planted an apple tree, after which the group continued to the breeding area, where they also met the young foals.

A brief tour of the farm’s museum led the President to a grand carriage once used by one of his predecessors—President Päts. He also viewed the skeleton of Hetman, the forefather of the Tori horse, and participated in a discussion about an unidentified agricultural tool discovered during the creation of the exhibition.

Thank you for the visit—it was a truly memorable day!
