R. Jakobson&#8217;s death anniversary. The event is jointly organized by the RMK Southern Estonia Visitor Management Department and the Estonian Rural Life Museums \/ C. R. Jakobson Farm Museum. This year marks the 143rd anniversary of C. R. Jakobson&#8217;s death on March 19th. &nbsp; First held in 1961, the Sakala Trail Hike follows the forest road between Kurgja and Vana\u00f5ue, the route C. R. Jakobson once traveled to Viljandi to deliver content for his newspaper. The trail is 12.2 km long. &nbsp; Hike Starting Point: At the start of the Sakala Trail, across from the Vana\u00f5ue Holiday Center in P\u00f5hja-Sakala Parish, Viljandi County. &nbsp; Rest Stops: Maltsaare Rest Area: Enjoy tea and cookies (please bring your own cup\/mug). Saeveski Forest Hut: A fire, tea, snacks, and an exhibition featuring the &#8220;Nature Achievers of the Year in Estonia&#8221; await hikers. At the Finish Line in Kurgja: Every participant will receive a medal. Warm soup and tea will be served in the granary room of the C. R. Jakobson Farm Museum. Free visits to the mill, barn, sauna, and stable. Half-price admission to the manor house\u2019s permanent exhibition. &nbsp; Parking: Cars can be parked in designated lots at Kurgja. See the parking map here. &nbsp; Bus Transport: Two buses (95 seats in total) will take participants from Kurgja to the starting point in Vana\u00f5ue. Bus ticket: \u20ac3. The bus departs Kurgja at 9:15. &nbsp; Participation Fee: \u20ac6 (free for preschool-aged children). Tickets for the hike and the bus can be purchased via Fienta by clicking here.
